Zuchtend kijk je naar al die (mode)bloggers en modellen die hun tot in de puntjes eigen stijl hebben uitgedacht. Jij zou dat eigenlijk ook wel willen, alleen weet je niet zo goed waar te beginnen. Maar wist je dat het eigenlijk helemaal niet zo moeilijk is om je eigen stijl te ontwikkelen?

Of het nou gaat om je eigen kledingstijl, je hairdo of de manier van nagels lakken, iedereen kan zijn eigen stijl ontwikkelen. Hoe? Zo!

1. Kies je kleur
Het is eerst goed om te weten welke kleuren wel en niet bij je passen. Ga voor de spiegel staan en pak kledingstukken, sjaaltjes en sieraden  in verschillende kleuren en kijk welke mooi bij je passen. Vind je het moeilijk om te bepalen wat nou eigenlijk wel en niet goed bij je past? Nodig vriendinnen uit voor een gezellige middag ‘kleur bepalen’. Of ga naar een specialist voor een kleuradvies. Daar wordt gekeken of je nou een  lente-, herfst-, zomer – of wintertype bent en krijg je na die tijd ook nog een kaartje mee met welke kleuren absoluut een goede match zijn. Superhandig!

2. Je eigen handelsmerk
Marilyn Monroe kennen we allemaal door haar blonde krullen en haar rood gestifte lippen,  Lady Gaga door haar aparte en gedurfde looks en ook de Olsen twins durven rond te lopen in vernieuwende combi’s. Nu hoef jij natuurlijk niet gelijk zo heftig uit te gaan pakken, maar misschien is het leuk om toch je eigen handelsmerk te bedenken. En dan echt iets wat bij je past. Ben je bijvoorbeeld dol op sieraden? Koop dan een (opvallende) ketting die goed te dragen is bij veel outfits. Of ben je juist meer gek op nagellak? Bedenk dan bijvoorbeeld je eigen nailart waar je eindeloos op door kunt gaan. Zolang jij er maar plezier in hebt en het leuk vindt om er mee rond te lopen.

3. Zandloper, peer, appel of asperge?
Kijk goed naar wat voor figuur jij hebt. Heb je een zandloper, peer, appel of juist asperge bodytype? Ga daarna op zoek naar welke kledingstukken de echte do’s zijn. Iedereen heeft zijn onzekerheden over z’n lichaam, maar laat dat zoveel mogelijk los en ga juist op zoek naar de pluspunten. En vergeet deze natuurlijk niet te benadrukken. Heb je een mooie taille? Ga dan op zoek naar een leuk getailleerd shirtje. Heb je lange benen? Draag wat kortere rokjes, of broeken met rechte pijpen.

Hetzelfde geldt voor de rest van je lichaam. Verstop je haar niet meer in een knotje of staart als je mooie lokken hebt, maar laat het lekker los hangen. Krijg je vaak complimentjes over je mooie ogen? Maak ze dan nog mooier met wat make-up.

4. Maak je eigen look book
Pak die stapel oude tijdschriften erbij voor een middagje flink scheuren en knippen. Zoek de leukste looks uit en plak die in je eigen look book. Let daar niet alleen op de kleding, maar ook op kapsels, sieraden en de make-up. Zo kun jij altijd ergens inspiratie vandaan halen.

5. Lenen en vintage
Vintage is hot! Vintagewinkels schieten als paddenstoelen uit de grond, dus kijk eens of je daar iets leuks kunt vinden. Of kijk eens wat je moeder of oma weg willen doen. Er kan nog wel eens best iets tofs tussen zitten! Je kunt ook kleding met vriendinnen kleding, sieraden en schoenen (tijdelijk) ruilen. Zo kun je dingen uitproberen zonder het meteen te moeten kopen. Is het toch niet helemaal wat je zoekt? Dan kun je kijken of je vriendinnen het leuk vinden om nog een keer dingen uit elkaars garderobe te ruilen.

En vergeet niet om jezelf even de tijd te geven. Het is niet zo dat je gelijk na een paar uur al moet weten wat wel of niet jouw stijl is.

Ik heb die spiegeltjesketting (bij de new yorker, strikje is er helaas wel vanaf..) en heb ook een uilenketting en ipv een vogelkooitje heb ik een carrousel van de kermis (lijkt erop) en zo'n klokje vond ik ook wel leuk maar (nog) niet gekocht!
